I know this is two posts in a row on something Aston Martin related, however, I had to cover this. So I’ll keep this short and sweet. Aston Martin has released a teaser for their new flagship Super GT, named the DBS Superleggera. And it’s very interesting…
Remember this beautiful beast? The car above is the latest Aston Martin DBS and Daniel Craig’s first Bond car. Released in 2008, the DBS was the DB9’s angry older brother. It was more than just a GT; it was a Super GT. Under the bonnet Aston put a 5.9 litre V8 with 510bhp, which propelled the car from 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds and would reach a top speed of 191mph. The DBS replaced the old Vanquish S as Aston Martin’s flagship car.
And it looks like history will repeat itself in the not too distant future. The DBS will be ‘reborn’ June 2018. Also with the name ‘Superleggera’ attached too (a nod to Aston’s history with Touring Superleggera). As at the time of writing this, we have only been teased with an image and a short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDmMRFPz0jM .
Of course, being an Aston Martin fan, I can’t wait to find out more about this car. Stay tuned, especially around June, for more information.
As a quick side note, leave a comment with which Aston you think Bond will drive in the next movie. In my opinion, it would be really cool for Daniel Craig to drive a DBS again, just like in Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace.
