Top 5 used hyper hatches under £25,000

Hot hatchbacks are a fantastically fun and practical car class. They’re those special vehicles which combine fun-filled driving thrills with day-to-day usability, reasonable running costs and family-friendliness. It’s a beloved segment filled with entries from the fairly fast to the insanely quick, aka the hyper hatches.

Top 5 junior hot hatches on sale today

Hot hatches are brilliant. The formula is simple, yet effective: take an economical small run-around and inject some performance, improved handling and driver engagement. This can all result in a fantastically fun car which is also usable every day.

However, these amazing machines can still be out of reach for many people, whether it be a high price tag, annoying insurance costs, etc. Are there cheaper alternatives that still pack a sporty personality and entertaining drive?

Top 5 most anticipated cars of 2021

Happy new year, petrolheads! That’s right, 2020 is finally over – thankfully – and 2021 is here, bringing with it plenty of new cars to talk about.

However, with a lot on its way, it can be hard to digest every model hitting showroom floors in the new year. As an enthusiast, surely there are certain cars bound to peak interest more than others?

Christmas cars: top 5 autos fit to replace Santa’s sleigh

Christmas is now very much just around the corner. Santa Claus will soon be hopping in his sleigh to deliver presents all around the globe – in a socially distanced, COVID-secure manner of course.

However, what if Saint Nick’s sleigh suddenly became out of action? What if he only had time to visit a car dealership to obtain a replacement? What make and model should he get?

Inside Ford’s heritage garage: the greatest hits

Within Ford’s Dagenham plant in Essex, the famed car maker stores a collection of cult classics. From the Model T to the Mustang, iconic names are plentiful and for fans of the Blue Oval – or simply cars for that matter – this place is paradise.

Though hidden from public view, last summer I was fortunate enough to be allowed access to the heritage garage in order to poke around some very special machines…

Back At Beaulieu

IMG_0216

Last weekend I was back at Beaulieu for Simply Ford. This is the second event I’ve been to at the National Motor Museum (in Beaulieu) that was brand specific. Simply Ford is, as the name implies, a gathering of cars that bear the Ford badge. Everything from Escorts to Mustangs turned up to be displayed in the grounds of the museum. It was another great day out.

Cars We Miss Out On In The UK

Unfortunately, in the UK we miss out on some cars that some other countries (like the US of A) get. It’s a real shame when you hear that a new car is being released, but then you find out that the only way of acquiring one is to either import it or move abroad. With that slightly depressing thought in mind, we are now going to look at all the cars you can’t get if you live in England. Enjoy…

2019 Shelby Mustang GT500, Is This It?

gt500-1-657x360Yes, I know I’ve been posting about Mustangs for three posts in a row now, what with the Mustang Bullitt being announced and the Shelby GT500  being teased. However, recently there have been many images of the GT500 going around on the internet and on social media, so I thought it would be necessary to at least mention them. Now, you must know these are not leaked images, but rather renderings. The one above I think will be closest to the real thing, and here’s why…

2019 Shelby Mustang GT500 Teased

gt500-1516111435I wanted to keep this post short and sweet, just talking a little bit about the news on the 2019 Shelby Mustang GT500 we have received. As at the time of me writing this, Ford has teased the car at the Detroit Auto Show. In the teaser video (there will be a link to it at the bottom of this post), there are a few shots of different parts of the new GT500, such as the wheels in the picture above. It was a pretty basic video, mainly to drum up some hype for the snake-badged beast’s return. Ford did want to make one thing about it very clear though…

New Mustang Bullitt – My Thoughts

2019-mustang-bullitt-5-1Showcased at the Detroit Auto Show, this is the new 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt Edition. It’s a more expensive, more powerful version of the 2018 Mustang GT, though no price or performance figures have been released yet. If you don’t already know, Bullitt is an old 1968 Steve McQueen movie with a very famous car chase scene in it. This new Bullitt Edition Mustang pays homage to that chase by taking the iconic look of the classic Mustang McQueen drove in the film, and putting it on the modern Mustang. What you get from that is a very cool, retro car that you can tell is special.
